Basic information

The department focuses on the development of sustainable, value-added construction materials and progressive methods of material recovery of secondary raw materials, particularly in the production of construction mixtures and their components, and the environmental assessment of construction products.

Pedagogical activity

The department provides teaching of subjects focused on building materials, composite materials, diagnostics, testing, durability of building materials and chemistry. It participates in the education of students at the bachelor level in the study program Technology and Management in Civil Engineering. It is a training center for doctoral studies in the study program Theory of Technology and Management in Civil Engineering.

Scientific research activity

The research activity of the department is focused on the development and preparation of building materials in the conditions of circular economy. It deals with research and development in the field of recycling and utilization of secondary raw materials based on waste materials and sediments, conditions of treatment of alternative raw materials, optimization of composition and preparation of construction mixtures in terms of increasing utility, technological and environmental properties.
