Achievements in Science and Research

Research activities at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Košice (SvF TUKE) are focused on solving basic and applied research tasks with the possible transfer of research and development results into practice.

The scientific and research activities of SvF TUKE are financially covered by resources from the financial schemes of the Ministry of Education, Science and Research of the Slovak Republic (VEGA, KEGA, APVV) and foreign grant agencies, also by projects obtained within the framework of EU resources, or by applied research (finance from partners from practice).

The scientific level of the SvF TUKE employees is evaluated on the basis of publication outputs, namely publications published primarily in renowned foreign publishing houses, as well as in important world-renowned publication and citation databases (WoS, Scopus).

The employees of SvF TUKE, also in co-authorship with colleagues from other scientific institutions at home and abroad, present the achieved results of scientific research in publications that are accepted by the scientific community and recognized at home and abroad.

The employees of SvF TUKE cooperate in organizing research events and professional training at home and abroad, are invited to lecture at scientific and professional events at home and abroad. They are members of scientific committees of domestic and foreign scientific conferences and symposia, review scientific papers and scientific and research projects. They cooperate with scientific institutions in obtaining and implementing domestic and foreign projects, are authors of utility models and patents, cooperate with practice in solving complex research tasks of applied research. They are also authorized and notified persons who have certificates and authorizations authorizing them to perform various professional activities in the field of construction (audit and design activities, professional and expert opinions, ...).

Scientific and research activities at SvF TUKE are focused on current issues of construction not only in the domestic, but also in the European and global context and are carried out at individual workplaces in the following areas:
