Institute of Architectural Engineering

The Institute of Architectural Engineering was established on 1.6.2011 after a change in the organizational structure and its research and teaching activities focus on the theory and design of buildings and environments in accordance with sustainable building construction with an emphasis on structural architecture, building physics. It provides teaching of architectural-structural and physical-structural subjects in individual study programmes and levels of education as well as broader post-secondary and specialized education of professionals for individual focuses and areas of civil engineering. The scientific and professional orientation of the institute is characterized by the research activities of its individual academic departments. The institute cooperates with companies of construction practice, in the field of designing residential, civil, industrial and agricultural buildings. The graduate's employment is in the following fields: constructor (in design and in manufacturing companies), technologist, technician (investor departments, government departments and territorial units), architectural construction preparation and building operation, building designer, assistant construction manager, assistant construction supervisor, interior designer, building information modelling (BIM) specialist.
