Dean’s Message

Construction is a timeless and promising field that offers many job opportunities at home and abroad. Apply to study with us. You won't just sit in a desk and listen to lectures. You'll get involved in a variety of laboratory exercises, experimental tests, specific projects, excursions and internships. You will be connected with practice, where you will verify your theoretical knowledge. You will learn how to use the latest tools and methods to design and assess construction works. We will create a space for your professional growth. Extend the group of professionals in the construction industry!

Basic information

The department focuses on the development of sustainable, value-added construction materials and progressive methods of material recovery of secondary raw materials, particularly in the production of construction mixtures and their components, and the environmental assessment of construction products.

Pedagogical activity

The department provides teaching of subjects focused on building materials, composite materials, diagnostics, testing, durability of building materials and chemistry. It participates in the education of students at the bachelor level in the study programme Construction Technology and Management. It is a training center for doctoral studies in the study programme Theory of Technology and Management in Construction.

Scientific research activity

The research activity of the department is focused on the development and preparation of building materials in the conditions of circular economy. It deals with research and development in the field of recycling and utilization of secondary raw materials based on waste materials and sediments, conditions of treatment of alternative raw materials, optimization of composition and preparation of construction mixtures in terms of increasing utility, technological and environmental properties.

Offer of services and activities for practice

In cooperation with the construction practice, the department focuses on:

  • Laboratory activities: experimental assessment of the use of secondary and other alternative raw materials in the preparation of construction mixtures, physical-mechanical properties of construction materials, physical-chemical analysis of construction materials, corrosion resistance of construction materials and diagnostics of materials of building structures
  • Lifelong learning as required
