Basic information

The department focuses on the complex approaches and innovation potential of the structural, technological and environmental contexts of construction and building projects, with strong support from information technologies for digitalization and virtualization of processes related to the design, modeling, management and optimization of construction processes.

Pedagogical activity

The department is involved in education across all study programmes of the Faculty of Civil Engineering TUKE at the bachelor and engineering degree level with subjects focused on the preparation and implementation of buildings in relation to the spatial, technological, temporal and site structure of construction projects, their quality and safety at work. It is a training center for doctoral studies in the study programme Theory of Technology and Management in Construction.

Scientific research activity

The research activity of the department is oriented towards increasing the efficiency of on-site and off-site technologies through innovative approaches to the preparation and implementation of construction, on the platform of digitalization of the parameters of information models of buildings. The department is engaged in research and development in the implementation of lean principles in construction production processes to reduce waste, improve quality and increase productivity, predictability and efficiency of construction projects.

Offer of services and activities for practice

Within the scope of activities for the construction practice, the department focuses on:
